Cherry Bark and Black Tea Hair Color Rinse Recipe
Ingredients: Cherry bark, Black tea- about a handful of each
Directions: Prepare a strong tea from black tea leaves and cherry bark. The longer you steep, the stronger the rinse. Use as a rinse after shampooing, finishing with a water rinse.
Brown Hair Shine Enhancer Recipe
Ingredients: 1/2 cup olive oil , 2 tablespoons ground cloves
Directions: Warm 1/2 cup olive oil in a small pan. Add 2 tbs. ground cloves. Heat for 20 minutes on med heat. Remove from heat, let sit overnight then strain into a small glass jar or bottle. To Use: Rub into your scalp and comb through to the the ends of your hair. Wrap in a shower cap and leave on for 20 minutes. Before rinsing,apply shampoo and emulsify. rinse then shampoo again.
Homemade Brown Hair Color Rinse for Brunettes
Ingredients: black coffee or tea (brewed, & cooled)
Directions: Brew coffee or tea. Allow to cool. Saturate hair. Let set or 15 min. Then apply again. Rinse well.
Grey Hair Natural Hair color coverage
Ingredients: 1/2 cup dried sage, 1/2 cup dried rosemary, 2 cups hot water
Directions: Cover gray hair by Steeping a half cup each dried sage and dried rosemary in two cups of hot water. Apply once a week until you reach the desired shade.
Black Tea and Sage Rinse For darkening grey hair.
Ingredients: 3 tablespoons black tea, 3 tablespoons sage, 1 teapot freshly boiled water
Directions: Steep black tea and sage in water. The longer you steep, the stronger the rinse, resulting in a slightly darker coverage. Allow to cool and use as a hair rinse, pouring the tea repeatedly over the hair. Rinse with tepid water.
Red Highlight Hair Color Recipe for Red Heads
Ingredients: 1/2 cup beet juice, 1/2 cup carrot juice
Directions: Mix ingredients together, pour over clean, damp hair. Wrap head in plastic and apply hot towel, medium dryer heat, or sit in the sun for one hour. Shampoo then condition.
Hair color Rinse to Darken Brunettes
Ingredients: 1/3 cup walnut shells, black tea, cherry tree bark or cloves, 2 1/2 cups water
Directions: Add ingredients to a non-metal bowl or pot. Use a double broiler for this. Simmer ingredients in water 20 minutes. Remove from heat, strain ingredients, saving liquid in an old shampoo bottle. Apply to hair as a final rinse.
Chamomile Hot Oil Treatment
Ingredients: 1/2 cup of the chamomile flowers, 1 tablespoon Avocado Oil, 1/2 tablespoon Castor oil, 1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
Directions: Steep 1/2 cup of the chamomile flowers in a 6 cups of boiling water for 30 minutes. Strain the tea and allow to cool. For a stronger brew, repeat this process. Pour into a bottle. Add oils. Shake vigorously. Apply to dampened hair, place plastic cap on hair and allow to set for 30-45 minutes. Shampoo hair then condition as normal.
Blonde Highlights Hair Color Rinse
Ingredients: 1 cup lemon juice, 3 cups chamomile tea (brewed, & cooled)
Directions: Mix ingredients, pour over damp hair then let sit for an hour while you sit in the sun, wash out. Follow with a good conditioner. Do this a few times a week to notice the highlights.
Chamomile Rinse Lightener Treatment
Directions To make Chamomile Tea Rinse: Steep 1/2 cup of the chamomile flowers in a 6 cups of boiling water for 30 minutes. Strain the tea, and allow to cool
To Use: Shampoo and condition hair as normal. Tip head over bathtub or sink. Use a bowl underneath to catch the liquid. Pour the tea through towel-dried hair a few times. Leave on hair for 30 minutes, then rinse with clean water.
Chamomile Highlight Treatment for Blonde Hair
Ingredients: 6 chamomile tea bags, 1/2 cup plain yogurt, lavender oil
Directions: Bring one cup of water to boil and steep tea bags for 15 minutes. Discard tea bags. Combine yogurt and 7 drops of lavender oil with chamomile tea, mix thoroughly. Apply the mixture to dry hair, working through to ends. Cover head in plastic wrap and condition for thirty minutes. Shampoo hair.

How to use Herbs to dye hair Naturally
The most common method of using herbs to color your hair is by making a strong tea or rinse. Using rinses to dye your hair takes time and usually many applications. Don't expect big changes overnight. Also this method will not yield salon results. These are rinses and will give minimal amounts of hair color. These are made to be hair color enhancers and do not result in full hair color coverage as normal color would. These are great for slight highlights and to help blend grey hair!

How to make a Hair color rinse/tea using fresh herbs:
1.) Place about 1/2 -1 cup roots, herbs or flowers in a teabag or tea ball before adding to 4 to 3 cups water.
2.) Simmer or steep in water for 20 minutes. Allow to cool. Drain herbs.
3.) Apply as a final rinse, AFTER shampoo and conditioner.
For a stronger tea, place herbs in a glass jar. Pour boiling water over herbs,cover and let sit for anywhere between 24 hours to a week. Then use as directions above states.
